- [ ] Add in margins - convert to guides - lock and unlock - [ ] Add bleeds - to outside packaging OR just what is visible - [ ] Convert your folds and cut lines to guides - [ ] Add in trim marks manually for yourself - this so you won’t have lines in the design - [ ] Go over the rule of thirds again - break out the rectangle into a grid - does not need to be thirds, maybe a 4 x 9 would help - allow yourself to revisit this as ideas progress - NEVER FORCE A DESIGN INTO A GRID - [ ] Explain space - [ ] Explain color - [ ] Explain shape and line - show how a line can lead an eye, or how it can be used for separation - sometimes - [ ] Negative space alone will not give that separation - [ ] Show how shapes work to help break down your design - it also allows for a rest in alignment where negative space alone can not achieve - [ ] Shapes similar to lines can help guide an eye across a design and in this project, onto another side of the packaging - [ ] Proximity of elements can help to group and separate information - building a hierarchy in delivering the information - [ ] Explain textures and patterns usefulness - then show how to create patterns, BOTH using adobe and manually when that does not give you what you need - [ ] Go over contrast with small text, large text - - [ ] Contrast with colors - using rectangles to separate out information - [ ] show how to properly stroke text - - [ ] Show how to copy and paste behind to add strokes to build out the look - add stroke and expand - [ ] Scale strokes and effect - useful and need to turn on and off - [ ] Show how to expand so if another person needs their files, won’t mess it up - [ ] Show blending options over textures
