I have found this to be a fun demonstration to demonstrate the management implications of treating common causes as special cause. Unfortunately, I have REALLY (and mostly) seen this attitude among real managers in business. I use this demo as part of an introduction to using statistics for management (specifically control charts). Feel free to use my example ... but actually do the demonstration. All you need are trick dice and regular dice that look the same.
