Introduction to NISPOM Central
https://www.skool.com/nispomcentral/about https://www.nispomcentral.com/ Welcome to NISPOM Central. This is your community to engage with other security professionals and get the tools, training, expertise, and advice that you might need to manage your security program. So this community is for you if you want to work with other FSOs and security specialists, or you want FSO tools, training and products that you can use and apply to your current organization. Some of you may be here that may be interested in learning how to become an FSO and gain that resume experience so that you can later apply to become an FSO. Some of you are appointed as FSOs, but you are not security professionals. Maybe you have a new company or your company just got its facility clearance and you have been designated as the FSO and are responsible for putting that security program together. And I know if you're in this boat, you have a lot of questions and have a lot of unease about how to develop that security program and be prepared for. Understanding what happens at A-D-C-S-A audit and being ready for that. This community can give you some perspective and is full of engaged security professionals who can help you with that. Earlier we talked about those of you who wanted a resume. Looked at or to build a resume to become an FSO later, this community can help you build that roadmap to that FSO career that you want. Again, this community is for security professional FSOs, as well as security specialists who want to learn to become an FSO, or those of you who are as designated as FSOs, who want to learn more about the FSO position in the NIST palm, but are not necessarily security professionals. So this is something new that we hope to engage with you in this community. Many of you know that during the DCSA review, they've created their new review process, and part of it is, four criteria that are called the Gold Standard criteria. These are not easily accessible by all contractor organizations. For example, one of the most difficult ones to demonstrate is engagement in a security community. Now, while most of us go to brown bag lunches and hear presentations, we are engaging by learning, but we are not engaging by mentoring, and this community will give you that opportunity to mentor, engage other people. We will have weekly, online meetings. The first one's scheduled, it's going to occur monthly, and that's going to be an introduction and something called Coffee Hour. We are also going to engage in community events that will allow you as an FSO of your organization to present to the community so that you can also engage in that gold standard criteria and demonstrate that you are engaged in mentoring in the security community. Here. You'll also learn about DCSA audits and reviews, so we put together some courses for you. Some of these courses are true courses and others are just a way for you to download and engage in forms training and policies and procedures. For example, in your membership, you will receive essential FSOs forms. And policies and procedures that are required for you to implement a good security program. For example, your insider threat program, your security standards and procedures, and see through reporting is a requirement. So we have templates for you that you can download and complete and be in this palm compliance. Additionally, you need forms such as visit request forms, reporting forms. And foreign travel, we have those available for you to download as well. We also provide security awareness training and insider threat training, presentations that you can download to present to your company. Not only do we have those presentations, but there are sample videos of how you would present that to your company. Now, we don't want you to just mimic and parrot what we are providing you. We want to build a way for you to engage as the FSO, create a redundant and effective security program, and ensure that you can delegate tasks to those employees who are capable of handling those tasks. Or to a third party or fractional FSO organization. We also provide insider threat tools and training as well as opportunities, to interact with other community members. We want you to interact, we want you to engage. We want you to excel as an FSO. Whether or not you're a security professional you have that responsibility to excel as an FSO if you are new to. The FSO or security specialist role, we want you to engage in our community, learn more, and become more adept at it. My name is Jeff Bennett.
