Introduction to process design: Reliability, maintainability and availability

In this introduction to process design, we cover reliability, maintainability, and availability of systems, with a focus on redundancy and capacity versus availability. The session explains hot standby, warm standby, and cold standby redundancy and has a sample calculation on reliability of systems. We also look at why availability alone is not enough for parallel process trains, and why capacity must be considered alongside it.
