After an argument with a family member and unfounded accusations made to authorities, my friend “Gary” was whisked away and locked in a room. What we hope you discover about the system—the hours without evaluation, the "observation" without due process, being called slurs and being beaten and bruised (I purposefully left out the photos from the video)—will change how you see mental healthcare in America. This isn't a niche issue. It's a growing, bipartisan problem that disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable. But there is a better way.
