IoT (Internet of Things) enabling technologies are the key technologies that support the development and functioning of IoT systems by connecting devices, collecting data, processing information, and enabling communication. 1. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) RFID uses radio waves to identify and track objects automatically. It consists of RFID tags and readers. It is widely used in inventory management, smart cards, and logistics. 2. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) WSN consists of interconnected sensor nodes that collect and transmit environmental data such as temperature, humidity, pressure, and motion. It is used in smart agriculture and environmental monitoring. 3. Cloud Computing Cloud computing provides storage, processing power, and services over the internet. IoT devices generate huge amounts of data, which are stored and analyzed in the cloud. 4. Big Data Analytics IoT devices create massive data continuously. Big Data technologies process and analyze this information to obtain useful insights and support decision-making. 5. Communication Technologies IoT devices communicate using protocols and networks such as: • Wi-Fi • Bluetooth • ZigBee • NFC • 5G • LoRaWAN These technologies enable data transfer between devices. 6. Embedded Systems Embedded systems are hardware and software combinations integrated into devices for controlling specific operations. Examples include microcontrollers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
