This is a song for the Persian People of Iran. This song is in Both Persian and English. The Persian line is sung and then echoed in English. In the beginning of the song, we hear: Zan, Zendegi, Azadi Woman, Life, Freedom Zan, Zendegi, Azadi Woman, Life, Freedom Shir-o-Khorshid, bar khiz Lion and Sun, arise Shir-o-Khorshid, bar khiz Lion and Sun, arise When the Military Operation against Iran started, we saw Iranians celebrating and dancing in the streets waiving the the flag of the Lion and the Sun as bombs were dropping. The flag in the photo is the flag of the Lion and the Sun. When the Islamic revolution happened in 1979, the Occupying Government changed the flag from the Lion and the Sun, to what it is today. Iranians of course want their current government gone. They want to be "Free Again". Here are some of the Protests that have happened in the past and what happened. 2025–2026 Protests: While demonstrations began on December 28, 2025, the deadliest phase of the crackdown occurred between January 8 and 9, 2026. During these two days, human rights organizations and medical networks estimate that more than 45 thousand were killed in just 2 days, including a major massacre in the historic bazaar of Rasht. (they shutdown the Internet so that the world could not see what was about to happen - the Internet is still shutdown. Some have Starlink smuggled in, but as those that have it are discovered, they are killed) 2022–2023 (Mahsa Amini Protests): Crackdowns began almost immediately after the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody on September 16, 2022. At least 551 protesters, including 68 minors, were killed by the end of the movement. 2019–2020 (Aban Protests): Triggered by a fuel price hike on November 15, 2019, security forces began using lethal force immediately. Between November 15 and 18, 2019, an estimated 300 to 1,500 people were killed in what became known as the "November Massacre". 2009 (Green Movement): Following the disputed presidential election on June 12, 2009, protests were met with violence. At least 72 protesters were confirmed dead during the subsequent crackdown. 1999 (Student Protests): Security forces stormed a student dormitory in Tehran on the night of July 8, 1999, killing at least one student and sparking further violence that killed several others. Early Post-Revolution (1981–1988): The state conducted mass executions of political opponents and protesters following the revolution, most notably the 1981–1982 massacres (3,500+ deaths) and the 1988 executions (1,000–30,000 deaths) * And of course we can't forget the 40-45 thousand Protesters killed in just 2 days in January 2026.
