Is Booktok Ruining Reading? 👀📚

How bad is booktok? My HONEST thoughts on booktok as an English major... What do you think of Booktok? Booktok has become an increasingly controversial topic, especially on Booktube, and I've felt as though something were missing from the discourse. So I've made a video with my thoughts! My argument: Booktok isn't anything new, it's just different! Also, the problem isn't booktok itself, but our tendency to read absorptively (poorly). To become better readers, we should pick up books with trope awareness, discussion of thought-provoking topics, and strong characters whom we can analyze.
