I started making these things with a mountain dulcimer in mind. I say it's still a dulcimer, but then we might have to debate what characteristics define a mountain dulcimer. Would I rather people agree with me that it's a dulcimer, or is it better if people think it's something else? But maybe I clinch the deal when I don't play dulcimer tunes on it. I do love these things. I've been in development mode this year and have only barely tried to sell them. Even so, I get friends and friends of friends interrupting me to insist that I take their money and let them have one.
