Joints are a core tool in hashtag#NVIDIAOmniverse apps like IsaacSim. Here's a quick tip that can save you time.
TLDR: selection order matters! The second rigid body's origin will be that of the joint.
If you're working on a robot or machine, you're likely going to make joints to determine how a 3D model moves.
Setting the origins of these joints correctly is so important. If they're off, the model won't match the real machine. Rigging can also be time-intensive if a model isn't set up in an ideal way. More on that later and how hashtag#OpenUSD can help.
But the tip is to select the Rigid Bodies in a particular order before creating the joint. If the one model's origin is where the joint's origin ought to be, choose that one second. Ideally those origins are correct in CAD to begin with. If not, there are ways around that.
Happy rigging!
