Google now allows users to set an image as the background on #Jamboard. This great news as in the past you were limited to a few select backgrounds. The teacher has the freedom to upload their own images and templates so that students can insert text, images, and shapes without moving the teacher's learning content. So how can you use it? Insert graphic organizers, text, or math problems so that the students can write over the top. Then when the student attempts to move or resize their own content, the teacher's content isn't accidentally manipulated. This video demonstrates how you can build your learning content in Jamboard, download the frame as an image and then insert it as a background (Start at the 1:30 mark). If you're more savvy with Google Slides or already have some templates ready to go, you can download the slides as images and upload them as background images in Jamboard (Start at the 4:47 mark). After it is all said and done, you use Google Classroom (Start at 4:10) to create an assignment so that each student gets a copy of your template.
