Snow and freezing rain may have moved out, but the impacts of this 36-hour storm remain.
Crews worked throughout the day, and sunshine helped activate salt and de-icing materials—however, that moisture will refreeze tonight as temperatures plunge.
Don’t let your guard down! If you must be out, slow down, increase distance between vehicles, watch for danger overhead and on the ground, and have an emergency car kit.
This is still an ongoing effort that will take days to get through. We appreciate the patience and caution Kentuckians are showing as crews continue to battle these conditions.
