January Embers
It’s a cold one out there tonight. ❄️ I wrote this song thinking about those nights when the wind is howling against the glass and the world feels like it’s standing still, but none of that matters because of the person sitting across from you. There’s a special kind of heat that a fire can’t provide, and that’s what "January Embers" is all about. I wanted to capture that raw, grit-and-soul country feel—the sound of the South in the dead of winter. Whether you're driving through the slush or tucked away safe inside, I hope this track keeps you a little warmer tonight. Thank you so much for listening and for supporting the music. It truly means the world to me. Stay warm, Paizon LYRICS: [Verse 1] The mercury’s falling past the zero line The frost is creeping up the Georgia pine Windows are rattling in the hemlock frame And the sky’s the color of a charcoal stain I just pulled the truck through a foot of slush The world is frozen in a midnight hush. [Pre-Chorus] But I don't need no whiskey to kill the chill 'Cause looking at you is a better thrill Yeah, the thermostat says it's a losing fight But there’s a heatwave starting in here tonight. [Chorus] Let the North wind blow, let the rivers all freeze Let the ice hang heavy on the hickory trees Outside it’s a graveyard, bitter and blue But I’m burning up just sitting next to you Baby, you’re the summer in the dead of the dark My heart’s the tinder and you’re the spark. [Verse 2] I’ll throw another log on the iron stove But you’re the only reason that I’m feeling warm To kick off these boots and forget the storm I never knew a winter could feel this warm The power lines are down all over town But we got a fire that won't go down. [Bridge] White-out conditions on the county road But in this kitchen, we’re in July mode Yeah, let it snow... let it drift... I got everything I need right here to lift. [Outro] Yeah, you’re the spark... Keep me warm, honey. © 2026 Paizon Ryker.
