Jacque Latin is a Contredanse which first appeared in Willsim's "Recueil de 24 Contredanse Angloise les Plus Usité" (Collection of the 24 most common English Contredanse) published in 1755. It is a proper duple minor dance. It was interpreted in 1996 and appeared in "English Dances for the Dutch Court". Found in "The Playford Assembly". "Jaque" really does appear to be spelled this way for this dance. The tune was published with the dance. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album "By Request". It is used with permission of Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc. https://www.cds-boston.org/ecdc/ The animation plays at 116 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set. https://www.upadouble.info/
