Jlin

Also known as Jerrilyn Patton, Jlin has emerged as an influential contemporary electronic composer whose work transcends musical styles and artistic disciplines. A math enthusiast and former steelworker from Gary, Indiana, she has composed for chamber ensembles such as Kronos Quartet and Third Coast Percussion; created mixes for Björk; and collaborated with choreographer Wayne McGregor, among others. For this performance, Jlin brought her signature electronic energy to the Library of Congress, where she presented the world premiere of the first full electronic music piece commissioned by the Library.
