Galway All Ireland winning captain Joe Connolly recounts 'magical days' playing Fitzgibbon Cup hurling at UCG (now NUIG) and winning the trophy in 1977 with other future All Ireland winning captains Conor Hayes and Pat Fleury, plus future GAA President Joe McDonough and Galway All Ireland winning manager Cyril Farrell.
'It was a fair group and I savoured every moment of the win', says Joe.
The 2017 Independent.ie Fitzgibbon Cup Finals weekend will be hosted by NUIG on February 24/25.
