This chapter expresses the point for us to think more heavenly than worldly. If we let earthly things control our every thought and passion, we will slide further and further away from the Lord and become blind to the truth of God’s Word, and this is what happened to the rabbi’s.
What not enough people realize is that when we involve ourselves too deep into worldly things we lose sight of God and his direction; and ultimately, we will stumble and fall, and be very unhappy, confused, and frustrated
