In the first part of this chapter Jesus exposes the rabbis as to who they really were, i.e., wicked impostors. Towards the end of this chapter Christ identifies many of them as the sons of Cain or Kenites - in other words, those who claimed to be of Israel, but are the synagogues of Satan ... many of them were Edomites as well – even King Herod was an Edomite [Idumean] which were the lineage of Esau.
