JOINT TERMINAL ATTACK CONTROLLERS (JTAC)

JTACS are qualified service members who direct the action of combat aircraft engaged in close air support and other offensive air operations from a forward position. All four Service components of the United States Special Operations Command have JTACs, but each branch has their own prerequisites.
