Jon Brooks - Neap Tide

Jon Brooks is perhaps best known for his brilliant releases on the Ghost Box Music label as The Advisory Circle, but in 2012 he released a beautiful album titled "Shapwick" under his birth name on the Clay Pipe Music label. The first edition of the album was a CDr limited to 100 copies, then followed a vinyl edition of 500 copies in early 2013, followed by a repress with slightly different artwork in june 2013, limited to 380 copies. I've been lucky enough to land myself a copy of this latter vinyl edition, the so called "Barn Owl Edition", refering to the owl pictured on the back of the cover. The whole package is a great work of art, from the hauntingly beautiful music to the exquisite cover art by Clay Pipe Music label boss Frances Castle. The track that I offer here is the closer of the album, an ebbing and flowing "hauntology"-waltz titled "Neap Tide", that sums up "Shapwick" the album pretty much spot on in my humble opinion.
