Josephine Divergent Dance Funded by Arts Council, Creative Academy & Slough Borough Council The inaugural work in a research and development project is inspired by the life of the legendary Josephine Baker, entertainer, activist, humanitarian, and cultural icon. Choreographed by Chelsie Innes and directed by George Kirkham, this work celebrates Baker’s extraordinary life, from her Parisian stage triumphs to her courageous civil rights work and espionage during World War II. This performance marks the first step toward a full-length touring production planned for 2026.
