"Julianna"

One day, in the late 90s (I think, not exactly sure), I went to an art festival in Albuquerque, NM. As I passed one particular display, I felt something strange. The paintings, to my left, reminded me of my own work—my many songs. To my right, sitting there, in a canvas tent, was a woman dressed in black. She didn't say anything, but I assumed that she was the artist of the paintings that had given me that odd "familiar" feeling. Then I went home. At home, I couldn't stop thinking about her, so I stood at my Alesis keyboard and jotted down how I felt. Of all of my songs (I have close to one hundred), this is one of my favorites. It was so easy to feel this. It was, and still is, deeply satisfying. This song "happened" to me, just by looking at her and her paintings.
