Jump Rope Tutorial #3 Jumping Backwards & Footwork This video is focusing on jumping backwards, and different type of footworks that you can perform when turning backwards: - open close - heel toe - straddle - knee lift Before focusing on the footworks, we make sure that your backwards turning is perfectly executed. Some points to remember: - move your arms a bit backwards, when looking from the side, the arms should be more behind your back - work with your wrists - the rope should touch the floor behind you before you jump over it. Learn it first in slow - double bounce rhythm, then continue turning the rope at a regular speed. - a strong control of the rope - clear movements - stable rhythm - precise timings - correct positions Once the backwards turning is going well, add the same footwork, the ones you can find in tutorial #2. We recommend for beginners to practice 3 to 5 times a week, short sections (3-10 minutes) jump rope routines, with longer (1-3 min) breaks. Focus on learning proper technic, as a number one goal! Only then you can build the next tricks, higher impact workouts to a strong foundation, avoid injuries and enjoy your trainings!
