June is a modal tune, meaning it is based on scales instead of chords. I wrote this tune for my Grandfather who suffered from lung cancer and passed away a few years ago. The name of this piece comes from a nickname he had when he was younger; being short for Junior. When he got sick it was hard for me to handle, so I feel like writing this tune has been the final step for me in dealing with what happened.
