This was recorded sometime in 2004 or 2005 in Bamako, Mali.
It is a cover of Kasse Madi rendition of Kaira, one of the traditional songs of the Mande Repertoire (Kasse Mady – Koulandjan Kela 1990).
Is not a very good recording but the interesting thing is that the musician (unknown to me) is using a BIC pen cap for a plectrum (you can see it is blue) and the rendition is very close to Kasse Madi's Version.
