Keeping Shabbat Simple
SHABBAT SHALOM MITZVAH OF TZEDAKAH “Happy are those consider the poor,” Ps. 41:1. This Shabbat we remember the words of Yeshua, King Jesus who called us to share our clothes with the naked and share our bread with the poor. LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES BY WOMAN OF THE HOUSEHOLD Barukh ata Adonai Eloheinu, Melekh ha'olam, asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu l'hadlik ner shel Shabbat. Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to kindle the Shabbat lights. May it be your will Lord my God and God of my fathers, to be gracious to me and all my family, crowning our home with the feeling of Your divine presence dwelling among us. Make me worthy to raise learned children and grandchildren who will dazzle the world with Torah/God’s Word and goodness and ensure that the glow of our lives will never be dimmed. Show us the glow of your face and we will be saved. Amen! BIRKHAT HAYELADIN Blessing the Children Read Proverbs 1:8-10, Proverbs 3:1-8, and Proverbs 4:23-27 Blessings for the Boys: Pray a blessing over them and close with this; May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.
