Guitar lesson teaching how to play - ‘Kim’ - Ryan Adams Written by Ryan Adams. The first track I heard from this album was ‘Gimmie Something Good’. Ryan was playing on the late night British music television show ‘Jool’s Holland’ and I was in instantly hooked by the song and his sound. The album echoed this trip with a feel of the Los Angeles skyline at dusk. Beautiful guitar parts ring out dripped in reverb, melancholy and 80’s nostalgia… definitely some nods to Tom Petty and Don Henley in there too. Kim was the stand out track though for me as it seemed to condense all these feelings into 3 min 26 seconds of brilliance. I hope you enjoy the lesson.
