Kimekomi DIY tutorial
Welcome to this tutorial. In this video we will show you how to make a Kimekomi bauble. This bauble makes for beautiful decorations during festive times and for all year round. For this tutorial you will need: Foam bauble, fabric pieces, cord, ribbon, bead caps, pearl pins, scrap fabric (i.e. calico,) PVA glue + toothpick or hot glue gun (RECOMMEND), pen/pencil, tape measure, exacto/hobby knife, and scissors. This bauble is made with 16 sections, but you can add/lessen the sections if you wish. This is a fun projects - especially if you have scraps of fabric around. Here we have used Japanese fabric with gold gilding (which were off cuts from making folded fabric stars... tutorial here: https://youtu.be/r-O73lSCueM) but you can try other fabric and prints too. At the end of the video, there is a bauble made using vintage kimono fabric. Once we tried one of these baubles, we knew that we had to make a diy kit/tutorial and we are looking forward to making more.
