Kohler ultralight engine- Part 2
This is a follow up video to show some changes, that I have made from what you may have seen in the first part video. This is the link to the first video: https://youtu.be/SPg-pEUYbD8 The trike is powered by a Kohler 725 cc, V-Twin, 4-cycle engine with a 2.5:1, 50 pitch (5/8") chain drive. It's producing 40 hp at 5500 rpm. I built this trike about two years ago and posted the first video about a year after flying. The original engine modifications were completed some five years ago, and I flew it in my Folker EIII WWI scale down ultralight design. It had a fully TIG welded frame that weighed 35 lbs. I displayed the frame at Air Venture 2005 as a proof of concept. That plane also performed great just like the trike. Sorry for the long intro, but I get lots of interest and most unfortunately, a few of the YouTube Trolls telling me this won't work or that won't work. Well it has for 7 years now. Please e-mail me with design and building discussions at [email protected], because I tend to give long answers and pictures that are beyond the normal YouTube comments section. Thanks for watching everyone, and I hope this helps someone with his/her building project, Sincerely, Ron Besse.
