Welcome to Lecture 37 of the course "Database Management Systems" by Prof. Partha Pratim Das. Full Course: https://study.iitm.ac.in/ds/course_pages/BSCS2001.html Video Overview In Module 32 of the IIT Madras Database Management Systems course, we explore web fundamentals and their role in database application development. Topics include the World Wide Web, URLs, HTML, and HTTP. We also cover client-side and server-side scripting using JavaScript, JSP, and Servlets. Additionally, we examine how cookies and sessions help maintain state in the inherently connectionless HTTP protocol. By the end of this lecture, you’ll understand how these components work together to create dynamic, database-driven web applications. About IIT Madras' online Bachelor of Science programme IIT Madras offers four-year BS programmes that aim to provide quality education to all, irrespective of age, educational background, or location. The BS programme has multiple levels, which provide flexibility to students to exit at any of these levels. Depending on the courses completed and credits earned, the learner can receive a Foundation Certificate from IITM CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education), Diploma(s) from IIT Madras, or BSc/BS Degrees from IIT Madras.
