In this lecture, we walk through a practical approach using summary statistics—like mean, median, mode, skewness, and coefficient of variation—alongside graphical tools such as box plots and bar charts.We demonstrate how to deduce the nature of the data and evaluate whether an exponential distribution might be a suitable fit. You’ll learn how to assess distributional shape, identify skew, and use tools like MLE (maximum likelihood estimation) to support your conclusions. This session emphasizes data-driven reasoning, even when contextual details are missing—an essential skill for statisticians, analysts, and data scientists.
