La Strada Vecchia

“La Strada Vecchia” is inspired by vintage Italian folk-pop and psychedelic Mediterranean rock from the 1960s and 70s. The kind of music that feels like a faded summer memory to me. It all began as an improvisation in A minor that I originally created as a MIDI sketch many years ago, back in the CompuServe days when musicians would exchange files and ideas online. The melody evolved into something more cinematic and nostalgic, reminding me of old European film soundtracks, dusty village streets, olive groves, and long-forgotten summer holidays. The Italian lyrics were written as a tribute to the warmth, melancholy and timeless beauty of Italian folk music and vintage European cinema. While Italian is not my native language, the song was created with deep admiration for the culture, atmosphere and musical traditions that inspired it.
