You have heard and seen several shades of a mother's joy. What you haven't seen enough of, is an ackmowldgement of her pain and the many scars that affirms motherhood in her.
We hope that more than the obvious pain that it comes with, is the realization of the need to choose self first. It doesn't make you less of a mother, it only means that you are strong enough to be there for you, while you are also present and available for your family.
