This webinar provides a training on the use of the Lake Loading Response Model (LLRM) as part of NEIWPCC's National 303(d) Restoring Our Impaired Waters Webinar Series. The LLRM is an Excel-based model that uses environmental data to develop a water and nutrient loading budget for lakes/ponds and their tributaries (AECOM, 2009). The training covers: (1) limnology concepts for modeling, (2) lake modeling concepts, (3) data analysis / model setup, and (4) Lake Loading Response Model (LLRM) and case study. Presenter bios: Bob Hartzel is the principal scientist at Comprehensive Environmental Inc. (CEI) and leads the Ecological Services practice. He has more than 30 years of experience leading water resources assessment, planning, and ecological restoration projects for wetland, freshwater, coastal, and wetland habitats. Hartzel has extensive experience in developing management plans for lakes and ponds throughout New England, including watershed management, aquatic vegetation assessments, and aquatic vegetation/algae control plans. David Roman, P.E., CFM, CPESC is the principal engineer at CEI. He is a Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in water resources engineering. He specializes in all aspects of watershed management, including water quality assessments and flow monitoring; hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling; field data collection data analysis and visualizations; and best management practice sizing and design. Roman has completed a wide variety of watershed plans using the LLRM model and other modeling methods.
