Lancaster is a city in Fairfield County, Ohio. Colonel Ebenezer Zane of Wheeling founded Lancaster, Ohio in 1800. Zane was a famous merchant, trail blazer, pioneer, and soldier. General William T. Sherman, famous Civil War General, was born in Lancaster. Historic downtown Lancaster is very nice. With so much to see and do. Great restaurants, and shops. The area is beautiful, there is something for everyone. Joseph Loveland and Hezikiah Smith built the first Rock Mill in 1799. There is tours of the restored 1824 Grist Mill.
