Listen to daybreaking here: https://larasomogyi.lnk.to/daybreaking daybreaking was written with an inspiration of birthing a new story on the harp that is meant to embody the honour of anew; a representation and promise for expanded dawn on the instrument. The steady rhythm of extended-technique pulses on the bottom of the strings, present a channel for both the wide and resonant bass to encompass listeners in comfort while the higher melodic line repeats in a singing cycle, growing in ambience and sustain as we enter the feeling of breaking through on the horizon. Sometimes I write through the night or before the world awakes, very early before the day has begun, and this is a very peaceful time for me. The feelings evoked from the horizon breaking, bathed in light, are sonically represented by the glowing ambience and reversed melody, creating an infinite sense of sustain - an endless invitation of dawn.
