Lateral Braid in the Round

In this video, I show you how to create the Lateral Braid (AKA, "Vikkel Braid" or the "Estonian Braid".) in the round. This technique is used in my pattern "Mirkwood Mitts" pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mirkwood-mitts I've played around with this method a bit and have found the best way to create the braid without having it interfere with your gauge is to go down 3 needle sizes for the round just BEFORE your lateral braid as well as the lateral braid itself. This creates smaller stitches from which to knit off of for the remainder of your pattern, giving you nice, uniform stitches and an even gauge.
