Law Day, observed annually on May 1, highlights the role of law in America’s foundation and its importance in upholding justice and liberty. It offers an opportunity to educate students about the legal system, promote the rule of law, and encourage civic engagement.
The 2026 theme, “The Rule of Law and the American Dream,” emphasizes that no one is above the law and that the rule of law protects people’s freedoms and their ability to pursue their dreams.
This year’s program will feature a fireside chat moderated by James Park, UCLA School of Law Vice Dean for Community, Equality, and Justice, with Shilpi Agarwal, Legal Director of the ACLU of Northern California, offering an engaging and conversational discussion with legal leaders.
