Relationships are how Layer connects data across categories like rooms, products, and Revit elements.
In this video, you will learn how relationship fields work and when to use each type.
Layer supports three types of relationship fields:
1. Manual relationships, which allow you to explicitly link items like room data sheets to products or FF&E.
2. Automatic relationships, which match items based on shared criteria such as marks, tags, or other fields.
3. Spatial relationships, which expose model-based connections, such as the furniture, doors, or windows associated with a room.
You will also see how relationships work in both directions and how to look up data across related categories, including model instances and product information.
This video provides a foundational overview of relationship fields. Each relationship type is covered in more detail in the following lessons.
