This two-hour workshop provides background to local health departments that conduct inspections at Ohio landfills. The first segment provides an overview of Engineering Design for Collection Systems. The second portion of the workshop covers how to Inspect Leachate Collection Systems and Best Practices for Maintaining an Effective Leachate Collection System. The third segment of the workshop covers National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting of landfill leachate discharge to wastewater treatment plants.
