LeakLeek have been compared to post-punk, experimental rock and proto-industrial bands like This Heat, SPK, 23 Skidoo and more, and have a bizarre, deviant sense of both music and life itself. The songs on Leak touch on the deranged psychedelia of The Velvet Underground or Amon Düül II, the spiky energy of Japanese new wave and the harsh sounds of No New York (including a cover of DNA’s song Not Moving). Following their self-released Demo CD-R and 6 song EP, the band have joined up with Tokyo indie label Call And Response Records for this new CD release, recorded by Gel Matsuishi (GEL Sound Production, PANICSMILE).
