Learn with me: Synthwave
🎶 Listen to the final version here 🎶 https://artists.landr.com/057829805415 Join me as I attempt to create a synthwave song using Ableton Live! Artists such as Synthwave Goose, Kavinsky, Com Truise, Punker and Sung are just a few artists that I’ve been listening to for inspiration. In this video, we dive into the characteristics of synthwave music, including analog-sounding drums, deep bass lines, arpeggiated synth lines, and gated reverbs. I discuss how the genre is inspired by artists from the 1980s and early 1990s. I set the tempo for the track, sticking to 100 BPM, which falls within the typical synthwave range of 80 to 140 BPM. See which instruments I use, including the OP-1 and Korg. I also incorporate various plugins such as Baby Audio Spaced Out, Super VHS, and Waves Magma BP Tubes. I share my thoughts on the final result, considering it a starting point and a demo. If I had more time, I'd add more variation, sections, and potentially a vocoder voice. ▶️ WATCH NEXT! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WD981SSG5xs&list=PL9hyAhZS4vRAyGq6BmwoVxr4pcZR2TFTt&index=11 | Watch me try Darkwave next. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKCxkv-4bX8&list=PL9hyAhZS4vRDqu7suFhpWb7JUTYcyNCoB&index=9 | Can I Make a FULL Track with ONLY a Ukulele in 60 Mins? 0:00:11 - Synthwave characteristics and inspiration 0:00:50 - Using instruments (OP-1, Korg) 0:12:23 - Utilizing plugins (Spaced Out, Super VHS, Magma BP Tubes) 0:31:51 - Final playthrough 0:37:07 - Final thoughts and future improvements For this session, I used Ableton Live, a Focusrite 18i20, the Moog Minituar, the Teenage Engineering OP1, and a Korg Monologue.
