This lecture discusses basics of image filtering operations. It states the two possibilities of performing filtering operations, first in the spatial domain, whereas the second in the frequency domain. With respect to spatial domain, it discusses two types of methods used for performing the filtering operations. These methods include point processing methods and area/mask processing methods.
