Lecture 21 | Control Unit | Hardwired | Microprogramming | Vertical & Horizontal Microprogramming

In this lecture, we will understand the design of a control path for a RISC V processor. We will discuss the two different paradigms for designing a control unit: Hardwired and microprogrammed control unit. We will also understand the design of a microprogrammed datapath and the mechanisms for encoding microinstructions: vertical microprogramming and horizontal microprogramming - NIT Srinagar
