Lecture 25: Transformers and AC Power Distribution

This video introduces how AC power is distributed in the power grid and introduces transformers and coupled inductors. We also cover a "transformer toolbox" full of useful equations for ideal transformers, and complete several examples at the end of the video explaining how to solve problems containing ideal transformers. Disclaimer: While this circuits course briefly introduces the power grid and topics about AC power, grounding and safety, this video is only a brief introduction and not intended to be a comprehensive training on the power grid and electronics safety for electricians and electronics technicians. This video is not a substitute for formal safety training or electrician training courses. Always follow electronics safety guidelines and do not handle circuits or electronics without proper training.
