A lecture for PHIL 310 on environmental ethics from when I had COVID in April 2024. On Harding's tragedy of the commons and Andreaus puzzle of the self-torturer. What is our duty to the environment? to future generations? What kinds of limits should might we need to put on progress for the sake of the environment? Ultimately, we consider the possibility that modern logic and social contract are insufficient to answer the problems of environmental ethics.
