What is Length Contraction n STR? In another interesting prediction of Special Theory of Relativity (STR), we see how the postulate of the constancy of speed of light shows that lengths measured by two different observers between the same two points must be different along the direction of motion. In short, moving objects are shorter. (no pun intended) RELATIVITY OF SPACE/LENGTH : In Newtonian or Classical Physics, the measurement of distances between two common points should be same for everyone. However Special Relativity challenges this idea. According to STR length of an object or distance between two points is very much dependent on the relative motion of the observer and the frame of reference.
