Many sailors know how to "spring off" from dock, either driving into the fore-spring or back into the aft spring depending on wind and tide. But did you know how to "sprong off" your boat from dock? I just call it "The Basti" after my good friend and great sailor Bastian Hauck who showed it to me many years ago. A really handy manoeuvre! You can even turn around your boat 180 degrees if you, for instance, want to have the bow into the wind (and rain)! Harbour manoeuvre made easy!
