LESSON ON SACRIFICIAL GIVING
HIGHER EVERYDAY THURSDAY MAY 07, 2026 LESSON ON SACRIFICIAL GIVING TEXT: MARK 12:41-44 MEMORY VERSE: "And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury" (MARK 12:43). Our Bible text of today provides profound lessons on sacrificial giving, faith, and God's perspective on giving. In God's kingdom, the value of a gift or offering is determined by the state of our hearts and not by the size of the gift. The widow's act is an encouragement to those who may have only little to offer. In God's eyes, your little gift or service may be of more value than offerings by the rich. The poor widow was selfless. She put her needs aside and did God's will first. However, we should not think that there are no wealthy brethren who give cheerfully and sacrificially. Robert G. Le Tourneau was a devout Christian and a prominent manufacturer of heavy earth moving equipment in the USA. His company built 70% of such machineries used by the Allies during the Second World War. Instead of giving 10% of his enormous income to God, he gave 90%. Christendom is blessed with sacrificial givers. Always give your best to the Master. Let us embrace the attitude of sacrificial giving that Jesus espoused. QUOTE: Give your best to the Master. CHALLENGE: What type of gift do you give to God? PRAYER: Help me oh God, to lay all on the altar. #trend #devotional #trending
