LesTheGenius - Trust Fall

"Trust Fall" an ode to the team building exercise focused on letting go and trusting others. An easy task in concept, but harder in action especially recovering from a history of encounters where help came at a price or ulterior motive. After graduation, purchasing his first home, and growing up, Les takes a trip back home full of nostalgia. Everything begins to feel like Deja Vu from sharing Jollof with his mother to watching soccer over a drink with his father similar to how he did with his own father. He also finds glimpses of his adolescence within the new kids chilling and enjoying life with no worries around the neighborhood similarly to how he used to be with his friends before life became a little more complicated. With North Carolina also growing at an alarming rate, the gentrification in the neighborhood is also prevalent showing a basketball court that used to be plagued with gang activity or once baren greenery now uprooted with construction. A classic tale of changes over time and personal growth of a kid from a small city granted the opportunity to explore the world through his art.
